material girl

Back in August I did a bit of work for Heather. In a fit of anti-capitalism we decided payment would be made in fabric.
I can't help feeling I scored here.

I give you ... the ratty little two seater we got off Husband's sister when we were first setting up house.

And now ...

This is fast becoming my favourite corner of our home.

It looks totally gorgeous! When F draws antlers on all the cows for Christmas, will you send me a photo? (I had my fingers crossed when I wrote that)

I just discovered this from a link on Design Sponge - it is amazing!!! I have a very similar little couch I want to re-cover, but am not sure where to start - have you got any tips? Have you done a lot of upholstry before? Or do you think something like this is possible for a beginner?

What a FANTASTIC job you did! You're so brave to have chosen such a strong pattern, and done it so well! Those little critters march straight across - fan-fucking-tastic!

Just came by from DS via Skinny LaMinx, and read down to hear, so figured the profanity was ok here! ;-) Hang in there, she will sleep longer sometime soon!

Thank you all for lovely comments, but I have to confess I didn't cover it myself!
Noooo, such a task would be well beyond me!
But I can recommend an excellent upholsterer in Cape Town should anyone require one :)

i saw this and liked and shared it in my reader, but was so hideously envious that i couldn't bear to come and comment. i must recover my big armchair and when i do, it will totally match this couch. :-) do you think we should move in together?
